Homemade SuperPretzel Soft Pretzel Nuggets

Pretzel nuggets are a timeless childhood snack and SuperPretzel was always my favorite brand to have. My Homemade SuperPretzel Soft Pretzel Nuggets are just like the real thing. Slightly chewy on the outside and warm and dough-y on the inside. They pair perfect with both savory and sweet dips, and are great for game day!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water 80 degrees
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1.5 tsp active dry yeast I use instant
  • 1/2 c baking soda
  • coarse salt sea salt or kosher

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine water, flour, brown sugar and yeast.
  • Lightly oil a bowl and place the dough in it, turning the dough so that it gets covered in oil. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 425. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  • Once the dough rises, turn it onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into eighths. Roll each section into a rope. Cut the rope into 1-2 inch nuggets.
  • Drop the nuggets into the water for 10 seconds, only a few at a time. Remove with a slotted spoon and let dry on a cooling rack or paper towels.
  • Grease two baking sheets. Spread the nuggets across the baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Lightly brush each pretzel with water and sprinkle with salt. Serve warm and with your favorite dip!
