Chocolate Chip Scones

Crispy, crumbling, and sweetened with chocolate chips, these scones are sure to be a morning favorite!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or a knife. Blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients. Add them to the dry ingredients, along with the chocolate chips. Mix until everything is well combined and a soft dough is formed.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface. Knead the dough 5-6 times, then shape into a circle. Roll the dough into about a 7-8 inch circle. Cut into triangles. I like to cute 8 scones, but if you want jumbo size scones, then cut the dough accordingly.
  • Bake the scones for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!
