Peach Praline Coffee Cake Muffins

When I think of August I think of peaches. If you know me, I’m a sucker for Southern food/flavors, therefore anything peach flavored is my jam. About 4 years ago, when I only blogged on Instagram, I did a peach and pecan week. Recipes stretched from peach ice cream to peach praline coffee cake. The latter recipe was one of my favorites, so I decided to turn it into muffins! Using fresh peaches, my Peach Praline Coffee Cake Muffins are guaranteed to make your morning —they’re that good.

the details of peach praline muffins

Lets break down these muffins. Like I mentioned earlier, I love Southern flavor and one thing that rules the south other than peaches is pralines! I had my first praline in Savannah, GA 4 years ago, and ever since then I’ve been hooked. Once I found out how good peaches taste with praline crumble, I knew I had to make a special baked good for everyone else to try. Enter, my Peach Praline Coffee Cake Muffins! What makes them so flavorful is the peach chunks and praline crumble (which resembles coffee cake). The muffins are best when made with layers. Specifically, a layer of muffin mix, a layer of crumble then repeat. Adding that layer of the praline crumble in the middle ensure that you have a sweet cinnamon, nutty pecan taste in every bite!

muffin substitutes

While I think these muffins are amazing as is, they could be made peachier or without chunks! Specifically, i’d experiment with puréeing a peach and adding it to the batter, in addition to the chopped up peaches. This may make them super peachy, but to me that’s the point! If you don’t like chunks in your muffins, then you can just substitute the chopped peaches with puréed peaches! This will add the same peachy flavor, but give you that desired texture!
