the details of caprese sliders

When it comes to Caprese, you’ll typically find a variation of tomato, basil, and mozzarella. Whether than be a fresh vine tomato, basil pesto, or sundried tomatoes, there’s many ways to spice up your sliders. Since I’m not the biggest fan of fresh tomatoes, I decided to use sundried tomatoes in my sliders. You can use whatever is your favorite! You could also add shredded chicken to the sliders to give them more substance – although that would be extra work 😉.

When serving the sliders, they can be served warm or cold. I prefer hot sandwiches, therefore I put my sliders in a panini press and cooked them until the mozzarella melted. If you choose the hot route, there is always the option of spreading EVOO, garlic, and parsley on the outside of the bread to give the sliders a nice flavor punch! I have never tried this, but I do know that garlic bread makes a delicious roll for a sandwich, or in this case, a slider.

Overall, if you want something that’s super easy to make and a little healthier than your typical game day food, then look no further than my Caprese Sliders! If you want some classic game day recipes, then be sure to check out my blog post My Favorite Game Day Eats.
