In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
Next, make a well and add the wet ingredients. Whisk the wet ingredients together, before folding into the dry ingredients
Add the grated apple to the bowl and mix until combined. Set batter aside for 10-30 minutes. This will help the pancakes become fluffier
Heat up a griddle or pan with butter. While waiting for this to warm, combine cinnamon swirl ingredients and put in snack bag or icing bag. If doing the former, snip the corner to create a "tip"
Once the pan is heated, pour the batter on. Squeeze the cinnamon mixture on the pancake in a spiral, starting from the center and moving outward.
Once the pancake bubbles and the edges are setting, flip the pancakes and cook for another minute or 2 or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter
Top the pancakes with maple syrup, whipped cream, more cinnamon butter, or enjoy plain!
